As we celebrate Women’s Entrepreneurship Day on November 19th, we at Tenfold HR Solutions want to share our journey with the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) and how it has helped us grow, align, and succeed. We know firsthand the challenges of scaling a business, and we hope our experience with EOS will offer valuable insights to other entrepreneurs seeking structure and clarity in their operations.
How EOS Transformed Tenfold HR Solutions
Celebrating Entrepreneurial Growth with EOS
What is the EOS System?
The Entrepreneurial Operating System, or EOS, is a comprehensive framework created by Gino Wickman and Tom Bouwer. Designed specifically for entrepreneurs, EOS provides a set of simple concepts and practical tools to help business leaders achieve their vision. Centered on six key components — Vision, People, Data, Issues, Process, and Traction — EOS has guided thousands of businesses toward achieving their goals with more structure, accountability, and alignment.
Why Tenfold HR Solutions Chose EOS
As Tenfold grew beyond ten team members and expanded its leadership, we knew we needed a solid foundation to drive our growth sustainably. Our journey with EOS began with reading all of Gino Wickman’s books, including What the Heck is EOS?, Traction, Get a Grip, How to Be a Great Boss, Rocket Fuel, and more. These books provided us with the clarity and inspiration to understand and adopt EOS as a guiding framework for our operations.
In fact, as part of our onboarding, we now provide each new team member with What the Heck is EOS? — a great way to introduce them to our company’s approach and values.
Taking the Leap: Partnering with an Expert EOS implementor
As we dove deeper into implementing EOS, we realized that we could benefit from expert guidance. We started working with Andrew Lemoine, a certified EOS implementer based in Edmonton. He brought clarity, structure, and the accountability needed to get our leadership team aligned and on the same page.
With his support, we established regular Level 10 (L10) meetings, set up our Vision Tracker, and created our 1-, 3-, and 10-year plans. The time and insights Andrew provided were invaluable, and partnering with him allowed us to hit the ground running with EOS.
How EOS Drives Efficiency at Tenfold HR Solutions
By implementing EOS across every department — from Operations and Finance to Marketing, Sales, and HR — we’ve created a structure that keeps our team focused, aligned, and proactive in achieving both departmental and company-wide goals. Here’s how EOS has been transformative for us:
1. Shared Goals
EOS helped us establish a unified vision that aligns every team member toward a shared goal. Through EOS-guided planning sessions, we focus on initiatives that drive growth and ensure we’re staying true to our mission and values.
2. Strengthening Team Alignment
With EOS tools like the People Analyzer and Accountability Chart, we ensure each team member is in the right role, working towards the same objectives. This alignment has created a more cohesive team, improved efficiency, and allowed us to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
3. Making Data-Driven Decisions
Data and metrics are foundational to EOS. By leveraging scorecards to track specific KPIs, we continuously refine our approach and make informed decisions that drive real results. This data-driven focus has been instrumental in guiding our strategies and optimizing our operations.
4. Addressing Issues Proactively
At our L10 meetings, we resolve challenges using the IDS (Identify, Discuss, Solve) method. This structured approach allows us to tackle issues early on, ensuring they are addressed efficiently and preventing small problems from escalating into larger roadblocks. This methodology has helped us maintain agility and stay ahead of potential setbacks.
5. Creating Streamlined Processes
Standardizing our processes has been a game-changer. With EOS, we’ve documented workflows across our services, from HR consulting to internal operations, ensuring consistency and efficiency in everything we do. This refined approach allows us to deliver better results and stay focused on what matters.
6. Focusing on Execution and Accountability
EOS emphasizes the importance of traction — the ability to execute plans and meet goals. Using tools like the Vision/Traction Organizer (V/TO) and 90.io software, we document our goals and track progress in real-time, keeping everyone accountable and on course.
The Results: A More Structured, Aligned, and Effective Team
Our journey with running on EOS has allowed us to operate with greater focus, alignment, and accountability. With structured weekly, quarterly, and annual planning meetings, EOS has given us the tools to turn our vision into reality and maintain momentum. Integrating EOS has helped us become better organized, efficient, and committed to delivering on our promises, allowing us to serve our clients consistently and effectively.
Why We’re Sharing Our Story
We’re sharing our experience with operating on EOS in the hope that it inspires other entrepreneurs who might be facing similar challenges. Whether you’re expanding your team, looking for a way to bring structure to your operations, or simply seeking a framework that aligns everyone on your vision, EOS can provide the clarity and accountability to take your business to the next level.
If you’re interested in learning more about EOS, consider connecting with certified implementers like Edmonton’s Andrew Lemoine, Michael Grand, and Ted Bradshaw who bring valuable insights to the table.
On this Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, we at Tenfold HR Solutions encourage you to explore EOS or any system that brings you closer to your goals. With the right framework, success is within reach.
