Tenfold HR Solutions Expands Fractional HR Services to Calgary

From Vision to Expansion: The Tenfold HR Story Continues in Calgary

Tenfold HR Solutions began in 2017 when our founder and CEO Deanne Beis turned her passion for human resources into a business that would bridge the gap between large organizations and small businesses in Alberta. What started as a one-person vision grew into a trusted consultancy built on connection, expertise, and trust.

From Deanne’s home office in Edmonton, Tenfold set out to empower growing businesses with customized HR support that helps them thrive. Over time, that mission evolved into one of Alberta’s leading fractional HR firms, serving clients across Edmonton, Calgary, and Western Canada.

Tenfold HR Expansion

Now, that vision is coming full circle. Brittany Gillis, Tenfold’s first employee, is leading the company’s next chapter; expanding fractional HR services to Calgary and offering in-person HR consulting for Calgary’s growing business community.

From the Beginning: Tenfold’s Early Days

When we asked Brittany about joining Tenfold in its early days, she recalled taking a leap of faith to join a brand-new company.

“When I joined Tenfold in 2018, I came in as a recruitment coordinator, hungry to grow in HR and ready to take the next step,” she says. “I still remember my interview at Deanne’s home office, I was nervous but honest about where I was in my HR journey. She told me she’d help me grow into a generalist role, and a few days later, she called to offer me the job.”

In the beginning, Tenfold operated more like a start-up adventure than a traditional office.

“Some days I’d ask, ‘So what are we working on today, Deanne?’ and it could be anything; recruitment calls, on-site HR support, or creating a new process from scratch,” Brittany explains. “It was unpredictable, but that’s what made it exciting and formative for me.”

Evolving With Tenfold’s Growth

As Tenfold grew, Brittany’s role evolved just as quickly.

“Once we started getting more consistent clients, my weeks became more structured, and my HR scope widened,” she explains. “I began taking on payroll, performance management, executive-level coaching discussions, and eventually, terminations, which was definitely one of the bigger milestones in my professional growth.”

That hands-on experience became the foundation for the leader she is today.

“Because Tenfold was growing so rapidly, I was exposed to so many areas of HR within my first year and a half,” she says. “It built my foundation in a way a traditional HR path never could. Today, I still carry that same start-up mindset that values adaptability, curiosity, and connection, but now I get to mentor others and help clients build their own HR structures, just like Deanne did for me.”

What Drives Tenfold’s Growth

When asked what’s fueled Tenfold’s success, Brittany’s answer was simple: relationships.

“Tenfold has always been about people, not processes,” she says. “We take the time to understand each business, their pain points, and their goals. That customized approach builds long-term partnerships where clients see us as part of their leadership team, not just a service provider.”

Where Businesses See the Biggest Impact

Through her years supporting clients across Alberta, Brittany has seen where Tenfold makes the biggest difference.

“Most businesses see immediate value when we bring structure and clarity to their HR foundation,” she explains. “proper onboarding processes, well-defined job descriptions, or KPI frameworks, structure creates alignment, and alignment drives results. We help leadership teams understand the “why” behind turnover or morale dips and guide them to meaningful change.”

Brittany’s Passion for People and Purpose

When it comes to HR, Brittany’s approach blends structure with humanity:

“I want to create systems that support people without losing the personal touch. HR should never feel transactional; it should feel connective.”

That people-first mindset drives her work on engagement strategies, leadership coaching, and performance frameworks that help teams thrive.

“There’s something incredibly rewarding about helping a leader navigate a tough conversation or seeing a team finally find its rhythm once clarity and trust are in place.”

A New Chapter: Fractional HR in-person in Calgary

Now based in Calgary, Brittany is helping Tenfold strengthen its local presence and provide on-site HR support for the city’s growing business community. “Calgary is full of innovative, growing businesses that are ready for that next level of support, they just need the right partner,” Brittany exclaimed. “What excites me most is bringing Tenfold’s proven model here: strategic HR that’s approachable, flexible, and effective.”

“The fractional model gives companies access to a full HR team, without the overhead of a full-time department,” she explains. “It’s especially valuable for Calgary’s growing businesses, where leaders need strong HR foundations but can’t justify hiring multiple roles. Our model lets them scale as they grow, staying compliant, structured, and people-focused every step of the way.”
